Silent Forest Circus is an original outdoor circus-theatre production by Mirabelle Arts that captures the breathtaking beauty of nature while confronting the devastating impact of human activity on the natural world.

Inspired by the Asian Songbird Crisis—a real and urgent threat leading to the loss of countless bird species due to illegal wildlife trade and habitat destruction—this show brings powerful environmental storytelling to life through circus artistry.

Each circus artist embodies a different species of bird, with their movement and discipline (aerial, acrobatics, dance) crafted to showcase the unique beauty—and tragic vulnerability—of these creatures. Through soaring performances, striking visual design, and emotive music, Silent Forest Circus draws audiences into a world of fragile wonder, prompting reflection on humanity’s relationship with the environment.

To enhance the experience, we also offer circus skills workshops and eco-inspired craft workshops alongside the show. These engaging, hands-on sessions allow participants to explore circus techniques, learn more about the birds featured in the production, and create beautiful, nature-themed crafts—perfect for schools, festivals, and community events.

Developed with support from Arts Council England, Unit 15 (through The Invisible Circus Launchpad), 101 Outdoor Arts, and EAZA, this production weaves together breathtaking performance with urgent environmental themes, creating a show that is both visually spectacular and deeply meaningful.
